Bananas are slightly curved fruit that has a yellow or red skin color. They grow in Tropical regions of the world; most are imported from Central and South America. They have been called the "Fruit of Paradise". There is also the plantain banana, which is mostly used for cooking.

* Storing - Always try to leave bananas attached to the stalk until ready to use. They can be stored in the refrigerator when skin has turned dark or black but the flavor will remain the same.
* Preparing - Bananas can be eaten raw or cut up in salads or desserts and can be cook as well. Half-ripe bananas can be baked, broiled, sauteed and fried.
The Recipe of how to make Banana Bread
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. soda
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3 large bananas, mashed
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine shortening, sugar and eggs; blend well
Dissolve soda in 3 tablespoons hot water; mix with sugar mixture
Add 1 cup flour and salt; beat well
Add bananas, remaining flour and vanilla; mix until smooth.
Pour into loaf pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes
